WKOW Channel 27 reporter, Rebecca Ribley with Lannia Stenz from Gilda's Club Madison and Julianne Brickl of Kate & Laurel
With the launch of the Kate and Laurel website at the beginning of this year, we have been contributing 3% of every purchase to Gilda's Club Madison. And it couldn’t have come at a better time for the local chapter which offers cancer support services to the surrounding community.
In August of last year, the clubhouse of Gilda's Club Madison was devastated by historic flooding, sustaining more than $1.4 million in damages. The flooding caused the local chapter to temporarily shut down while it was forced to clean up and remodel their building.
Over six months of hard work and lots of volunteer participation later, Gilda’s Club plans to reopen in early March with a grand opening on March 14th.
In order to help them prepare to serve the community at their newly restored and revamped location, Kate and Laurel, in addition to 3% of every purchase going to the club, will be donating furniture and home décor products to make sure they will be looking their best.
Our own Julianne Brickl, VP of eCommerce, appeared on WKOW Channel 27’s “Wake Up Wisconsin” with Lannia Stenz, the Executive Director and CEO of Gilda’s Club Madison to talk about the rebuilding process and the wonderful involvement of the local community.
