Madeline Jeppesen

Madeline Jeppesen of Fig and Five Designs is an artist from Minnesota that started creating art at a young age. She was 6 years old when she started painting with her dad who is also an avid artist. From there her love for art grew and was always creating every chance she could. In college she studied fine art and primarily focused on ceramics and painting. Since then, she has sold paintings in local Minnesota shops, in health clinics and through social media. She also created wedding bouquets for the past 15 years and recently transitioned to making flower art prints. She is married with three young children. Works as an occupational therapist and help clients return to activities, they love which frequently includes art.

Madeline’s art is intended to invite rest in the visual open spaces and create wonder in detail. Although many of her pieces have a realism component, abstract portions and a play on perspective provide a creative moment in ordinary places or things. Her nature art specifically focuses on remaking something that is already beautiful and changing the form. She also enjoys using unexpected natural materials to create the familiar aspects of animals. Using only natural materials assists in representing the delicate and unique relationship between plants and animals and celebrating the beauty that can go unseen.
