Annie Rochelle is an artist living and working in her hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee. She is a graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art with a BFA in Painting and Art History. With an education in art conservation and art history, Rochelle is an artist whose work uses traditional forms of drawing and painting combined with chance based compositions, double images and kaleidoscopic quilted geometry to celebrate not only the environmental, but cultural landscape of Appalachia. Through the novel merging of watercolor landscape painting with quilt design to create a new geometric composition that honors the artist's roots, Rochelle’s work is both contemporary and nostalgic.
